SALES & EVENT MANAGER

Kpop Exchange is fast growing online e-commerce company specializing in k-pop albums and merchandise is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to manage local and regional 1-3 day pop-up shop events. The position is responsible for supervising and organizing event logistics, driving sales, finding locations/sponsors for events, event promotion, setting up the event tech including POS and security cameras/troubleshooting, and organizing necessary sales staff to assist and monitor sales and to facilitate inventory management and buying. You will essentially be running a business within a business and can make base salary + commission depending on performance and sales.

Heavy event promotion and marketing expected. It would be beneficial if this person could film short reels and TikToks at events that will be used in event promotion and advertising.

The successful candidate will need to be high energy, positive, outgoing, detailed oriented, have a "can do" attitude and be able to handle customer requests and provide outstanding customer service. You will be expected to hit the ground running and must have proven experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and manage retail pop-up events of varying sizes that significantly contribute to the business sales
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, venues, sponsors/partners, other staff members, and customers
Responsible for choosing inventory based on customers wishes and greatest demand, pricing to maximize revenue and sell through, event set up and break down
Create proposals and budgets for events
Create digital assets for event promotion/advertising, photograph and film content for ads and more
Research, build, and update venue, vendor, sponsor/partner databases
Recruit, hire, train and build out local and regional event team
Develop and adhere to policies
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Must be able to push and pull a cart, squat and bend, grasp and reach, and close ziplock bags.
Must be reliable and punctual to events.
Must be able to carry boxes of albums and merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds each.
Can thrive working in a fast past, relatively chaotic and often unorganized environment where each day is different.

QUALIFICATIONS

2-4 years in commission and/or sponsorship sales
2-3 years experience in event management and planning
1-2 years experience in Shopify
1-3 years experience in retail
2-3 years in leadership position with hiring experience
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, but not required
Available to work weekends for events (with willingness to travel for events)
Must have your own car and be comfortable driving a large van if necessary
Strong communication and interpersonal as well as team management skills
Excellent work ethic, ability to balance multiple projects at once, and not afraid to wear multiple hats
Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Flexible, motivated self-starter who is high-energy, positive, collaborative, creative, and solution-minded
Readiness to work outside standard business hours when necessary, including weekends
High level of computer competency
Proficiency with Apple computers, Shopify, Shopify POS, Shopify 3rd party apps & can quickly learn new computer programs
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

PLUSES
Bilingual Korean/English skills

This role is part-time to start and has ability for full time depending on performance
