Clé 2: Yellow Wood is Stray Kids' 1st special album, released on June 19, 2019 under JYP Entertainment. The album title references Robert Frost's iconic poem "The Road Not Taken" — which famously begins with "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood." For Stray Kids, "Yellow Wood" represents a new place they've chosen to enter, following the world-building from Clé 1: Miroh.
The title track "Side Effects" (부작용) is pure organized chaos. The disorienting song structure, psychedelic instrumental, and that iconic monotone voice listing "common side effects" like a prescription drug ad — it all comes together to portray the confusion and "side effects" of pursuing your dreams. As Changbin explained, the song is about young people getting confused when resources don't come right away, questioning if they're on the right path.
